"At Gold Medal Equine Research centre, we have been using Merriment Lucerne Cubes for just on 12 months. Being a scientifically based program, we take particular care in what we feed our clients’ “equine athletes” as we are constantly trying to maximize their performances and therefore, their earning potential."

We have found several advantages to feeding our horses the Lucerne Cubes, they are as follows:-

• Firstly, the nutritional analysis speaks for itself. Due to all of the plant being used in the cubing process, it has a higher crude protein level which is always important for muscle growth and protection from wastage during any form of stressful exercise.
• We have also found that due to the cubes being virtually “dust free” , it greatly assists horse that are prone to respiratory tract infections, with a dramatic reduction in coughing being observed.
• When feeding at the floor level,  the horses tends to nibble the cubes, taking  them considerably longer to eat them, which allows for greater mucus draining and a reduction in the possible forming of stomach ulcers.
• I also feel that this action closely simulates their natural grazing habits, which for any horses confined to stable life, for extended periods of time, can only be a good thing.
• Another positive we have observed, is that when the cubes are served with their main meal, it tends to stop the odd greedy horse from gulping their feed and forcing them to take longer to consume it. This can only be an advantage to the already complex digestive system of the horse, assisting it in many ways. None more important than increasing the efficiency of the nutrient absorption in the “hind gut”.
• Finally, it is very comforting  to know that over the duration of a season, the last cube you feed, still has the same “nutritional value” as the first cube you fed at the start of the season . Something that traditional hay stocks , cannot possibly claim!
